We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team on a casual basis (5 hours week/ flexible work) as soon as possible. This role supports our Finance team and can be worked remotely from home or from the Alexandria office.We need someone who can work at pace, has exceptional attention to detail and assumes accountability for delivering on the accounts cycle end to end.At Learning Links, we work together with thousands of families to help children with learning difficulties or learning disabilities reach their full potential. We’re a not-for-profit, full-of-purpose organisation with a lot of heart.Your roleIn this role day to day, you will be:Assisting the Finance Manager with the financial processing, management, and reporting for Learning Links.Supporting the organisation to manage costs and make effective financial and operational decisions.Providing financial, administrative, and clerical support within the finance team.Overseeing the collection of unpaid invoices. You will liaise with internal stakeholders and contact customers directly where invoices remain unpaid over 30 days.Working closely with the internal stakeholders in the Customer Care team, Psychology team etc., to assist in the collection of debts.Contacting clients who have invoices that remain unpaid for more than 30 days to obtain payment.Communicating with the customer via a variety of channels (e.g., text, email, phone).Escalating unpaid invoices over 60 days to Management to either write-off the invoice or engage external collection agents.Liaising with external collection agents.Preparing reports as required including aged debtors.Taking credit card payments.Ensuring the integrity of financial management information system.Implementing Learning Links’ accounting policies, transactions, procedures, and practices and making sure they are carried out in accordance with accounting standards and all laws and regulations.Learning Links has invested in technology, as part of our digital transformation, to enable our team to be successful and efficient. The team all works flexibly and are in and out of the office throughout the week.Your knowledge and qualificationsDemonstrated skills and experience negotiating with customers and internal stakeholders in debtor collectionAbility to multitask as you juggle multiple streams of contactsSystematic and organised in your approach to collection of debtsPrevious experience in using medium to large finance systemsAbility to collect payment for invoices by setting and agreeing clear deadlines with the customer while also being polite and respectful.Ability to reconcile accounts.Learning Links has a mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, and you are required to be fully vaccinated (i.e., three doses) for COVID-19 to work with us.Child safety is top priority for us, and we are a Child Safe organisation.
